DESCRIPTION: On an “as needed basis” performs a variety of tests for the presence of various diseases and pathologic conditions under the supervision of a medical technologist; stains slides, examines microscopically and reports finding; conducts chemical analyses of blood and analysis of urine specimens; obtains blood samples by venipuncture and finger stick; prepares technical reports; assists in maintaining laboratory area within the CLIA guideline; and other duties as assigned. DESCRIPTION: Perform general radiography and electrocardiography; review for technical
quality; properly mark and check all radiographs for correct patient and part identification, expedite patient flow through department and return patient to medical provider with completed radiographic studies as ordered, use equipment following Federal, State and Departmental policies & procedures regarding safe used of ionizing radiation; review all orders for authenticity and appropriateness; properly prepares patients for examinations; treat all patients in a professional and caring manner; and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Successful completion of a formal educational program that is accredited by a mechanism acceptable to the State of Georgia; must be compassionate and “student” focused; certification as a general radiographer in accordance with the State of Georgia; office skills and two years experience in general diagnostic and orthopedic x-ray preferred; requires lifting, stooping, bending and reaching. Good customer service and communication skills; knowledge of quality film and/or digital criteria, ability to judge quality, computer literate, and personal motivation to maintain quality in absence of supervision is essential.
